Rob and his husband, Kevin, moved to Puerto Vallarta from New Orleans, Louisiana in 2013. After 18 years owning of one of the most popular bed and breakfasts in New Orleans, it was time for a life change. Kevin and Rob had been regular visitors to Puerto Vallarta. It was truly a second home for them. After the sale of the B&B it was a natural decision to move to Puerto Vallarta. Their first year was spent “retired” but, like so many entrepreneurs, they had worked all of their lives and being “retired” did not jibe with their lifestyle. Best to find something to do! Rob lucked out and started working at Boardwalk Realty in 2014. It was a natural fit. Kevin started managing select properties and then became Rob’s assistant and fell in love with real estate. Kevin and Rob soon noticed there was nothing to assist Chinese buyers wishing to invest in Mexico generally, and Puerto Vallarta specifically. So, the idea of setting up a website in Mandarin began to form, and in keeping with Boardwalk’s theme of “We Speak Your Language”, mandarinrealtyvallarta.com was born. Kevin and Rob are very knowledgeable of the real estate market in Vallarta and are happy to assist you in finding your piece of paradise. They speak 2½ languages: Mandarin, English and some Spanish (that’s the next challenge… fluency in Spanish!). Most familiar with Colonia Amapas (where they live), Conchas Chinas and the Romantic Zone, Rob and Kevin are able to assist you in any neighborhood around the Bay.

The U.S. Consular Agency in Vallarta provides emergency services to American Citizens residing in or visiting the area around Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco and Nuevo Vallarta/Bahia de Banderas, Nayarit. The Consular Agency also performs notarial services and receives applications for U.S. passports, which are forwarded to the U.S. Consulate General Guadalajara (the Consular Agency’s supervisory post) for processing. The Consular Agency no longer accepts applications for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA): CRBA applications must be made directly with the U.S. Consulate General in Guadalajara (click here for instructions). Kelly Trainor has been the Consular Agent since November 1998. She is assisted by a staff of three employees. Emergencies: For after-hours emergencies involving life or limb, you may call the Duty Officer at the U.S. Consulate General Guadalajara at: 01-55-5080-2000, ext. 0. If calling from the United States, dial 011-52-55-5080-2000, ext. 0. Hours of Operation The U.S. Consular Agency in Vallarta is open to the public Monday through Thursday, from 8:30am to 12:30pm, except for U.S. and Mexican holidays. The Consular Agency is also closed on second Wednesday of every month for in-service training.
