puerto vallarta theater shows Leslie Jordan Over EXPOSED

Puerto Vallarta Theater Shows Leslie Jordan Over EXPOSED at Nacho Daddy. Our favorite funnyman returns. Leslie Jordan is a true survivor who persevered through years of struggles, gained an Emmy Award for Will & Grace, performed in films such as Sordid Lives and his original stage plays. He has toured in Mexico, Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. Asked in Sordid Lives about his fixation with being Tammy Wynette, Brother Boy was advised, “You have got to get over this Tammy Wynette fixation!” “Well, someone’s got to carry on her legacy now that she’s gone!”

Leslie Jordan keeps his ears on the current events and turns many of them into comic skits or one-liners. His audience is in love with him for one reason in that he makes them laugh uncontrollably. Leslie relates stories from his childhood which shaped him into a successful comedian although there were plenty of adversities all along the way. Being raised a Southern Baptist put him at odds with many hometown conservative religious people. Many residents did not know what to make of this youngster who abhorred sports but loved twirling rings around his waist and doing cartwheels in a cheerleading practice. Tonight, he debuts his new show here in Mexico where he loves to visit and perform regularly, although his schedule is quite full.

A delightful feature tonight was that Amy Armstrong appeared to welcome her good longtime friend and she imparted a rich “Your Song” where she displayed her vast musical talents. The crowd was thrilled that she was present and look forward to her current show.

Leslie is ‘overexposed’, but is that really possible? He bares his soul, inner thoughts and experiences without batting an eyelash. He is brutally honest which instills vast amounts of humor into the evening. He will not ignore silly and humorous events in his life. He is open and tells all. No one is spared, even the ladies from the church. Adding to the delightful night were Leslie’s attempts at dancing and kicking his heels, not to mention a brief exercise in ‘singing’. He is an iconic landmark wonder whom fans follow and enjoy when he tours nearby cities.

Mother had her own troubles but one wonders tonight if what he says is totally true or contains an added slight edge. Throughout the night he says that everything he says is true. Keep in mind “No one can make all this up”. He wrote a play “Hysterical Blindness and Other Southern Tragedies That Have Plagued My Life Thus Far.” It was an autobiographical exposé of many happenings as he grew up surrounded by dear but slightly wacky townspeople, many of whom were taken aback by his unique behavior. His life story could be titled “Small town Southern Baptist boy hits the big time”.

One amusing memory was when Leslie was a spirited three-year-old and his father wished to take him to a wedding. Mother warned, “You know he is an ‘excitable’ boy.” This is an aspect of him that has not diminished with age and he warns that he is a churning mess of thoughts that finds a comical side to relate to the audience. He states that “My mind is like a bad neighborhood. You do not want to go there alone.” Holding aching ribs and snickering down the stairs, many attendees declared that they would return as soon as possible.

This run is going to be a sell-out. Buy your tickets now. Leslie’s new show has adult content not suitable for all ages.
