Casa Cupula Gay Boutique Hotel Celebrating 20th Anniversary

Casa Cupula opened as a small 5 bedroom guest house in 2002 and was the first to offer luxury accommodations for LGBTQ travelers in Puerto Vallarta. During those 20 years this iconic landmark helped establish Puerto Vallarta as one of the top gay travel destinations by being at the forefront of gay travel trends, innovating its amenities while winning awards and accommodations along the way.

  • Casa Cupula hosted the official launch of Vallarta Pride in 2013 featuring “Broadway Bares / Equity Fights AIDS” dance group.
  • The clothing optional pool parties in Puerto Vallarta were first introduced by Casa Cupula in December 2017.
  • The staff helped during many local emergencies, including spearheading the $40,000 drive to rebuild homes damaged by Hurricane Patricia in 2015, and then again after the 2017 Chiapas earthquake supporting various local charities like SETAC the local LGBTQ community center and What a Drag! event benefiting the Banderas Bay Women’s shelter.

Today you will find 19 uniquely designed, luxurious rooms and suites among three buildings, the newly expanded Pool Club, Pump Gym & Spa and the Bistro restaurant. November 2022 marks the hotel’s 20th anniversary with new additions to continue the tradition of establishing Puerto Vallarta gay history.
The Pool Club Expansion includes a new VIP terrace with private cabanas, a finishing kitchen and a new built-in jacuzzi connected to the pool, new bathrooms and sexy showers around the beautiful Papelillo tree, larger bar, and a new Thursday Latin Fiesta.
Room Remodeling including new outdoor patio furniture for most of the rooms.
The hotel has a huge 20th anniversary party scheduled Friday, November 25, 2022 as well as a 4 day weekend celebration January 13, 2023. Check www.gaypv.com/events/ for more information of the celebration planned.
