Javier Aranda Pedrero New Director of Puerto Vallarta Tourism

The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Javier Aranda Pedrero as its new General Director. Aranda Pedrero, a 25-year tourism industry veteran, has considerable experience promoting travel to Mexico across domestic and international markets. He returns to Mexico after five years at the helm of
the Mexico Tourism Board’s office in Madrid, where he served as Regional Director for Europe.

Prior to this role, Aranda Pedrero spent 20 years in key tourism positions in the State of Quintana Roo; including General Director of the Riviera Maya Tourism Board and before that General Director of the Cozumel Tourism Board. Aranda Pedrero is a native of Mexico City and studied publicity and marketing at the Centro de Estudios en Ciencias de la Comunicación (CECC University), Mexico’s only communications-focused higher education school. He began his career in the hotel industry and quickly rose to leadership positions at the National Chamber of the Restaurant and Food Industry (CANIRAC) and the Hotel & Motel Association of Cozumel.

“I look forward to working with our team, stakeholders, local private sector and international industry partners to continue to strengthen Puerto Vallarta’s reputation as a leading tourism destination and build on the success of a number of record years for overseas tourism to the city,” said Aranda Pedrero.

Commenting on the appointment, Álvaro Garciarce Monraz, President of the Puerto Vallarta Hotel Association and the Tourism Board, said: “I believe Puerto Vallarta will greatly benefit from Javier Aranda Pedrero’s extensive experience and superior track record of achievements in the growth and diversification of travel to Mexico.”
