Puerto Vallarta announces some reopening May 18 2020 per the Governor of JaliscoThis is called phase 0 and is a 14 day phase. After then this situation will be re evaluated. Some hotels are already open or opening soon while this guideline says pools and common areas are still closed. Check our list of hotel openings here.

The businesses and activities that can return to operate May 18, 2020 are:

Those with software, research, accounting, marketing, advertising, accounting and financial services activities.

Technical services, crafts, carpentry, blacksmithing, plumbing, general repairs.

Beauty salons, barber shops, manicures and pedicures by appointment only.

Car washes following the corresponding measures.

Nurseries that comply with special care and corresponding measures.

Industries that are considered essential (these were already operating).

Non-essential industries that are part of supply chains can return but operate at 50% of their capacity.

Shops with products allowed in essential establishments

Sale of construction equipment and material

Sports, fabric, haberdashery stores

Businesses that do not generate crowds such as travel agencies, home appliances sales, home sales.

All the businesses indicated above must comply with all prevention measures and not exceed the density of one person for every 7 square meters.

Hotels and motels as long as they keep their common areas closed.

Restaurants and cafes at 50% of their capacity.

The companies and activities that DO NOT return to operation May 18, 2020:

Businesses that generate crowds such as shopping malls, technology squares, clothing stores, etc. They will only be allowed to sell by catalog or electronic commerce

Public activities, parks and sports units will continue to be closed.

The churches will only be able to make individual accesses, therefore religious events, masses, etc. are not allowed.

All public events with more than 50 people are suspended.

Employer events

Schools of all educational levels

Gyms, spas, sports clubs.

Bars, canteens, clubs, event rooms

The beaches are still closed for now.
