A section of the Malecon open for restaurant clients

In a joint agreement between the Puerto Vallarta city municipal government and some restaurants in the Malecon area, it was decided that a section of the Malecon open for restaurant clients only will be allowed starting Monday May 25, 2020.

Guadalupe Guerrero Carvajal, president of the Commission of Tourism and Economic Development, reported that after a virtual conference meeting they determined to open access to the Malecon only to restaurant clients, while the rest of the Malecon will continue to be closed until federal and state authorities allow the opening of public spaces.

On Friday officials from the different areas of the City Council met and made a tour of the area to define the feasibility of the area to open.  They defined an area from Calle 31 de Octubre to El Faro (The Lighthouse approximately at Galeana Street) about 8 blocks of the Malecon to be open. The restaurants located along this stretch of the malecon going south begins at McDonalds, includes El Dolce Vita, Paradise Burgers.

Updated 5/24/20 Puerto Vallarta Mayor Arturo Davalos announced that pharmacies, restaurants, and banks located on the Malecon would be open from 8am until 10pm with disinfecting protocols and security measures in effect from this zone, Octubre 31st street to El Faro.
