CONCIERTO DREAMING TOGETHER
Dreaming Together is a musical journey by more than 100 voices of the Gay Mexico City Choir , directed by Horacio Mendoza, the New York City Gay Men’s Chorus , directed by Charles Beale and the Gay Men’s Choir of Puerto Vallarta , directed by Alfonso López.
This concert, under the stage direction of Fernando Gómez Pintel, celebrates pride and diversity and unites two nations with the power of music. This union was celebrated for the first time in 2017 with the choirs of New York and Mexico City, when the boys from Mexico next to the choir of the United States sold out three performances at the Skirball Center for Performing Arts in New York. A year later the two choirs meet on July 6 and 7 in Mexico City at the Esperanza Iris City Theater as part of their 100-year celebration and on the occasion of the month of pride. Then on Sunday, July 8, the Gay Men’s Choir of Puerto Vallarta joins the other two choirs for this concert at the Teatro Vallarta .
Get ready for the energetic and lively performance of ABBA, Stephen Schwartz, Lady GaGa, RuPaul, Mexican traditional music and Broadway hits. This in the voice of tenors, baritones and basses.
Dreaming Together advocates diversity and enhances differences in a realistic tone. According to one of the founders of the Gay City of Mexico Choir, Oscar Urtusástegui, this group “tries to shout to the world that despite the inequality we are a fraternity that defines us as a society and makes us break the differences”.
