The city has also been included in important rankings such as “Trending Pride Destinations Year after Year” and is among the top 15 of “Airbnb’s Best LGBTQ+ Destinations”, in addition to national and international recognitions such as the Gay Travel Awards.

RESTAURANT OF THE YEAR Café des Artistes

For 32 years, Café des Artistes—a “Mexican-inspired French restaurant”—has offered an exclusive, elegant and comfortable gay friendly atmosphere for everyone.  Underlying every single dish is the passion and creativity of Chef Thierry Blouet to maintain a menu inspired by the flavors of Mexico, with a great dose of creativity and innovation.  With an atmosphere for every occasion, Café des Artistes is an experience for the senses: P’yote Lounge & Piano Bar, decorated with Huichol themes and other chic accents by renowned Mexican designer Cristina Covalin; the new La Troje terrace, which offers an elegant outdoor setting; the new and recently renovated interior courtyard, with fresh and elegant windows leading to the main courtyard; and the most famous area of the café: the verdant Garden for an evening under the stars, amidst works of art and natural beauty.

OUTSTANDING PROJECT OF THE YEAR Vallarta Pride

Puerto Vallarta celebrated the tenth annual edition of Vallarta Pride with the theme “Be proud of your nature” from May 17th to 28th.  Through entertainment, cultural and sports activities, informative forums and the ever-popular Block Party at Lázaro Cárdenas Street, the event promotes values such as equality, respect and recognition of gender-diverse people.  One of the highlights of Vallarta Pride is the Parade.  Thousands of people take to the streets in Puerto Vallarta in a show of support for the LGBTQ+ community.  The Pride Parade is always a festive event that is a celebration of diversity and inclusion with colorful floats, music and dancing.  The tenth annual edition of Vallarta Pride was a record breaker in its own right with over 20 thousand people in attendance.
