Last night, the Writers’ Guild Awards took place in New York City’s Edison Ballroom, honoring the year’s finest scripts and their respective scribes in the fields of film and television.

Get Out won big for Best Original Screenplay, while Call Me By Your Name took the top honor for Best Adapted Screenplay. The Handmaid’s Tale won Best Drama and Best New Series, and Veep took home Best Comedy.

Tina Fey was presented with the Herb Sargent Award for Comedy Excellence alongside her writing partner Robert Carlock—she joked in Variety’s report that “If you have a meeting with Robert, when you get there he will never be just getting out of the shower. That is just how low the bar is now. We never made anyone who worked for us look at our genitals.”

Dustin Lance Black accepted the Valentine Davies Award for his civil rights efforts at the West Coast ceremony, which also took place yesterday at the Beverly Hilton. And it’s important not to forget that Big Little Lies has continued their awards season sweep with a Long Form Adapted win.
