Men’s Addiction And Recovery Center Opens In Puerto Vallarta. Puerto Vallarta is known as a party town where many gay men love to vacation and party. In the middle of Covid-19 pandemic, overdoses and addictions are at record breaking highs in 2020 and those suffering with addictions need somewhere to recover in paradise, Puerto Vallarta. John and Nancy from Vancouver, BC opened Recovery In Paradise center January 1, 2021 in Puerto Vallarta with the goal of showing sober life and recovery does not have to be boring. Recovery is a men’s only 8 bed client substance abuse centered with group and individual therapy based in the 12 steps of recovery. The center is for English speaking clients in Mexico and there staff is fully bilingual.
Why did they choose Puerto Vallarta for the new center? We had been coming here on vacation for years. It just always felt like we were home when we landed here. We retired permanently to Puerto Vallarta 18 months ago with no thoughts of doing anything like this. John and I we have over 35 years of recovery. We volunteered at a Spanish Treatment Centre and it really opened our eyes to the need for an English speaking centre here. Most importantly we are affordable enough for Canadians and Americans to be able to take advantage of our program.
John brings with him a passion for recovery. He is someone who strongly believes that we don’t get clean and sober to be miserable. He is a walking example that recovery is possible and living clean and sober is a life worth living
Nancy had a long time career in healthcare and brings her love and compassion for others to the center of Recovery In Paradise. She has spent a lot of time over the years working with others in the programs of AA, NA, and CA both in Canada and in Puerto Vallarta.
Upon arrival our guests will be introduced to three different types of fellowships: Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous and Cocaine Anonymous. After learning a brief history on these three different fellowships and with the consultation of one of our recovery coaches the patient will begin the corresponding twelve step program.
