In the newly remodeled, former home of Elizabeth Taylor (Casa Kimberly), Janice Chatterton of Hacienda San Angel has paid special attention to every architectural detail and Chef Eduardo Michaga Lucero’s expands his Mexican mestizo and contemporary cuisine in the casa’s restaurant, The Iguana. Ceviche, escargot, lobster tacos, arugula salad, and seafood soup will tempt the palate. Sea bass with hibiscus and chipotle; filet wrapped in hoya santa; grilled salmon with huitlacoche and squash blossoms; cabrería; pork shank; and grilled Cornish hen tamarind make main course choosing difficult. Flan de rompope and green apple turnover are sweet ways to end your fine-dining experience. Great tequila bar. Mariachi La Joya de México provides music Sunday-Friday, November thru April.
