Profile
OK José (formerly No Way José). Owners José Alfredo González Padilla and Executive Chef Mario Ibarra Rubio operate a colorful restaurant with an open-air rooftop [high season] serving traditional Mexican dishes. For starters, try Azteca soup or shrimp bisque. Frida’s pear salad is excellent but the Caesar prepared tableside is considered one of the best in the area (Yes, real anchovies, if you wish). Entrées specialize in the best of Mexican cuisine— tequila mussels; tamales, chiles en nogada; mole Las Peñas; spinach-stuffed Xochimilco chicken breast (sauced with huitlacoche, mole poblano or pipian), arrachera; tampiqueña;three chile filet mignon; honey chipotle glazed pork ribs; and beef medallions in mulato raicilla. For seafood lovers—mahi mahi with zucchini blossoms in creamy mango sauce; red snapper Veracruz; and shrimp al gusto plus fajitas (four styles), and chicken, shrimp or vegetable enchiladas. Be sure to order the delicious Mexican coffee— the show is amazing! Several local honors have been awarded including a 2013 AAA 3 Diamond. No CC. This restaurant may participate in May Restaurant Week.
