Le Kliff Restaurant Official Statement Regarding Hurricane Lidia Damage

For 40 years, the majestic palapa of Le Kliff stood tall against hurricanes and tropical storms, but this time, nature displayed its relentless force, bringing it down completely. The material and economic heritage of several families lay in ruins, and the livelihoods of many were deeply affected. Under the Le Kliff palapa, thousands of love stories were written and perpetuated, but today they find themselves without shelter. Millions of photographs were left bereft of their iconic beauty, and that beautiful stage, once the dwelling of Juan del Diablo, now lies shattered.

However, this is not the first time such a tragedy has struck. In 1998, a torrential rainstorm caused the palapa to collapse. Despite the economic challenges of that time, we managed to rebuild it and forge ahead. Today, history repeats itself, but thanks to the power of social media and our advanced communication systems, we can feel the empathy and support not only from our compatriots, friends, and family but also from colleagues, suppliers, and our cherished customers from various corners of the globe.

In response to your messages of solidarity, we are sharing the information for making voluntary donations that will directly benefit those who are part of the Le Kliff family:

On our end, we will also seek institutional support for natural disaster relief, with the hope of restoring the physical damage and rebuilding our beloved palapa, an icon of Vallarta’s gastronomy.

We express our boundless gratitude for the affection and encouragement shown to the Guzmán Gutiérrez family, which undoubtedly serves as a source of strength for our hearts and for the construction of the new Le Kliff. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, we will continue to contribute to the growth of tourism in our beautiful Puerto Vallarta.
