Additionally, ASIPONA has proposed establishing Puerto Vallarta as a homeport for mid-sized cruise ships, introducing a ferry route to the Marías Islands, and developing a gastronomic corridor and botanical garden tour.

Disney isn’t the only line expanding in PV. Carnival, Princess, and Norwegian continue to include Puerto Vallarta on their Mexican Riviera itineraries, and industry insiders suggest that with Disney’s arrival, more luxury and specialty cruises may follow suit. This could mean a steady increase in passengers experiencing Puerto Vallarta for the first time.
