GAYPV interviews Pink And Proud Vallarta co-founder, Adrianna Garcia, and organizers, Sarah Rose and Elena E. Zolezzi of Elixir Mixology Bar, about the womxn-only events organized for Puerto Vallarta Pride 2021.
In the interview Adrianna explains how Pink&Proud Puerto Vallarta was born in 2014 with the intention of creating a great party for all womxn, not just for lesbians. “We had already hosted some reunions for womxn, but once we realized there were no events for womxn during Vallarta Pride, we decided to create an official Pride party where the attendance expectation was exceeded exponentially.” Explained Adriana. Pink&Proud was founded by Carmen Porras, Claudia Victoria, Estrella Velasco & Adriana Garcia.
Sarah, can you tell us a little more about these events that Pink & Proud will be hosting during Vallarta Pride 2021?
S: Sure, we are going to start the week of the events with a Welcome Cocktail Party on Wednesday, May 26th, at Elixir Mixology Bar which opened at the end of January 2021 and is one of the only bars in Puerto Vallarta that is owned and operated by lesbian women. It is a new space that serves as a meeting point for both local women and visitors who want to interact or meet women.
On May 27 and May 30th, we are introducing completely new concept for Vallarta: Secret Dinner Parties. They are held in a secret location and with a secret menu. These events are by reservation-only.
On Friday May 28, we are hosting our first-ever Pink&Proud Pool Party at Amaria Villas. There will be lots of fun things going on, like Agave Spirit Tastings, Mixology Classes, Live DJ and Acrobats, a full bar, and lots more!
