Bella Vox Foundation Elevates Puerto Vallarta Performing Arts Scene bringing World-Class Cabaret and Theater

The Bella Vox Foundation elevates Puerto Vallarta performing arts scene bringing a bold new era for cabaret theater and performing arts, thanks to the leadership of Broadway veteran David Sabella. With his creative vision and passion for inclusive arts, Puerto Vallarta—already world-renowned for its vibrant LGBTQ+ community, fabulous culinary scene, and thriving gay nightlife—is quickly emerging as a cultural hotspot for live cabaret and theatrical performance.

This U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation has officially launched operations in Puerto Vallarta, with plans to expand throughout Mexico and Latin America. In collaboration with a Canadian partner, the foundation will soon offer Canadian donors similar tax-deductible benefits as those available to U.S. supporters.

This season, the Bella Vox Foundation will present both professional-level shows and offer educational programs at The Palm Cabaret and The Coco Cabaret, including a large scale, music theater summer intensive training program, which has the potential to contribute to the extension the season through the month.

A Mission Rooted in Equity, Access, and Cultural Collaboration

In April, Bella Vox’s leadership team—including board members, staff, and volunteers—gathered virtually from around the globe for two strategic planning sessions. The result: a powerful mission to elevate the performing arts, empower underserved talent, and create inclusive, transformational live theater experiences.

Their long-term vision is to serve as a cultural bridge between the U.S. and Mexico, fostering artistic exchange, empowering diverse communities, and expanding access to the performing arts for all.

A cornerstone of Bella Vox’s mission is to invest in the next generation of Mexican performers by providing accessible training and scholarships. Many young artists in Puerto Vallarta lack access to formal arts education due to economic barriers. Bella Vox plans to offer subsidized classes in acting, voice, and dance—opening doors for creative growth and professional development.

In addition, the foundation is launching community outreach programs to bring live theater and cabaret performances to underprivileged children and families, ensuring that everyone—regardless of background—can experience the magic of live performance.
