La Tienda Grande is a highly rated authentic Mexican restaurant inspired by traditions, memories and experiences of Chef Salvador Carrillo from Puerto Vallarta. Salvador tributes all his success as a chef to the women in his life: his mother, 4 grandmothers, aunts, friends and those ladies I have met in life and have inspired me.
The menu is from dishes he has tried that are still in his memory but interpreted his own way.

About Chef Salvador Carrillo
Chef Salvador Carrillo is an expert in traditional Mexican cuisine with over 20 years of experience creating authentic and delicious dishes. He is a professional chef born in Puerto Vallarta, known as “pata salada”, and remembers cooking since a very young age, maybe 6, 7 or 8 years old.
He studied Gastronomy at UTBB in 2007 and finished in 2009 with the TSU degree. Chef Salvador also studied a couple of diplomas at the Franco-Mexican Institute, did professional internships in several restaurants in the city and from 2008 to 2015 was in charge of the La Leche restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. He is the winner of several culinary competitions.
His creations are La Tienda Grande restaurant in Ixtapa, a traditional Mexican cuisine restaurant with a creative touch, and NIDO restaurant in Dubai. Currently he enjoys traveling between both destinations nurturing each location.
