Puerto Vallarta Infrastructure Projects For 2025

Jalisco Governor Pablo Lemus has announced major new Puerto Vallarta infrastructure projects for 2025. Among several announced is the purchase of 38 new electric buses for public transportation in Puerto Vallarta. They are expected to be operating by the end of 2025.

The new buses will run on four main routes and one complementary route. The routes will be Las Juntas, CUCosta, the Airport, La Marina basically connecting Las Juntas with Puerto Vallarta centro. Planned intervals between buses is projected to be 5 minutes.

18 larger buses with a passenger capacity of up to 120 passengers and 20 buses with a capacity of up to 70 passengers. Beside being totally electric, each bus will have air conditioning, a Mi Movilidad card payment system, a monitoring and video surveillance system, and universal accessibility.

Transportation officals indicate the new bus fare to be 10 pesos as is currently and paid with the new Mi Movilidad card. To jumpstart and promote the Mi Movilidad electronic prepaid system, 50 thousand cards will be distributed free to Puerto Vallarta citizens.

Governor Lemus announced a second major Puerto Vallarta Infrastructure Projects For 2025.  That is for state of Jalisco to construct a new pier named “Las Peñas” off the street Republic De Chile in centro Puerto Vallarta near Ley’s supermarket. That location is here.

The pier will be a 120-meter-long installation that is composed of concrete piles and metal structures , a walkway with a concrete slab,
an ornamental canopy with a metal structure and steel mesh, a viewing point with a wooden floor, pedestrian and stage lighting, street furniture (benches) and signage.

Long term, maritime officals plan to build 12 piers in Puerto Vallarta. 6 have been completed Quimixto, Punta Pérula, Melaquem Los Muertos, Boca de Tomatlán and Las Ánimas. The 6 proposed are Las Peñas, Mismaloya, Yelapa, Chimo, Tehuamixtle Bay and Barra de Navidad.
