YouTube is proud to launch #ProudToBe, their fifth annual Pride campaign. Creators for Change is YouTube’s global initiative dedicated to amplifying the voices of role models who are tackling difficult social issues with their channels. From combating hate speech, to countering xenophobia and extremism, to simply making the case for greater tolerance and empathy toward others, these creators are helping generate positive social change with their global fan bases.
An inclusive, vibrant, ever-expanding LGBTQ+ community has been a vital part of YouTube since they started. They are proud to stand with a group that believes every human being deserves the right to be who they are and love who they love. So to all those brave voices who continue to make Youtube the colorful, diverse and supportive place it is, we’re #ProudToBe with you.
The Ambassadors for change-the Creators for Change ambassadors are using their voices and creativity to speak out against hate speech, xenophobia and extremism. In collaboration with YouTube, creators like Humza are showing their fans and the world new perspectives and new ways to drive social change.
You can get involved. Youtube believes that sharing your voice through video is one of the most powerful ways to help create a world where everyone can be heard. And at YouTube, they want to do our part by giving you tools, insights and best practices for using your voice and videos to help make the kind of social change you believe in.
Youtube Global Chapters
In Australia, YouTube has joined with Vice and the Foundation for Young Australians to launch #ShareSomeGood, a campaign focused on helping people counter hate speech. In France, the “Toi-même Tu filmes” program is bringing together hundreds of creators who have produced a total of 140 videos building solidarity and fighting hate speech. YouTube creators from all across Germany have joined forces under #NichtEgal (which means “it matters”) in a movement dedicated to countering online hate. Learn more at https://www.youtube.com/yt/.
