The Dog Days Have Just Begun!

One of the most remarkable things about PV is that there is always someplace exciting to visit. Shops, restaurants, clubs, spas, and cafes are all around for people to enjoy. Keyword: PEOPLE. But where can you and your four-legged friends go when you both want to enjoy the day? Luckily new places are popping up in Puerto Vallarta to accommodate you both!

El Patio PVR, located at Francisco Madero 248 inside Plaza Romy, is a totally open-air, fenced dog park with a lovely covered seating area to entertain your dog. They feature big picnic-type wood benches perfect for larger groups. They have several weekly events like live rock music, el patio market, and Latin dancing lessons and offer a small food menu while you let your dog have fun with others.

Ruffy’s Canine Cantina – Located in the Rio Cuale near Oscar’s, Ruffy’s is a leash-less dog park and restaurant with two huge play yards (one for big dogs and 1 for smaller dogs under 20 lbs) with signature synthetic green grass. There are referees who can play and supervise your dog while you enjoy the southern flavored Southfork by Ruffy’s restaurant. They offer daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly memberships for dogs to enter and play (people are free). Members get discounts on the extensive merchandise store, special happy hours, and special access to sponsored events and information.

For all the joy and unconditional love that dogs bring us while, in return, asking for so little, wouldn’t it be great to give them a space to enjoy? GayPV highly encourages you to take your puppy out for a play date and experience a reimagined approach to a dog day afternoon!
