Meet the Artist Night is Galleria Dante’s own evening event, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. No reservation required — just show up, wander the gallery with a drink in hand, and spend time with the artists whose work is on the walls. Some nights, you’ll even catch an artist painting live.
Every other Friday, Di Vino Dante opens with wine and tapas, the sculpture garden fills with people, and the whole space feels like the best possible version of a Friday night in Puerto Vallarta’s Zona Romántica. Come early, stay late.

Meet the Artists in Residence
Galleria Dante represents dozens of contemporary Mexican and international artists, and on any given Meet the Artist Night, you’ll typically find several of them on-site — sometimes painting live, always happy to talk about the work on the walls. It’s a rare, low-pressure way to actually meet the people behind the art, not just look at it.
Wine and Tapas at Di Vino Dante
Upstairs, Di Vino Dante opens for the evening with one of the more eclectic wine lists in Puerto Vallarta, alongside a tapas menu built for sharing. Overlooking the sculpture garden below, it’s the natural next stop once you’ve made a lap through the gallery — many guests turn the evening into a full dinner.
Note: Di Vino Dante (2nd floor) and Pizza Joe’s (3rd floor) share the same building as Galleria Dante, but use a separate street entrance at Basilio Badillo 269 — not the gallery’s own entrance at 249.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Meet the Artist Night free?
Yes — admission is free and no reservation is required. Just walk in.
How often does this happen?
Every other Friday, 6–9 PM, for the duration of the season — this year running October 30, 2026 through April 16, 2027. Check Galleria Dante’s own calendar closer to your visit to confirm the exact upcoming date, since the every-other-week pattern means it doesn’t fall on the same Friday every month.
Is this part of the Puerto Vallarta Art Walk?
No. The Puerto Vallarta Art Walk is a separate, unrelated event held on Wednesdays, involving galleries in El Centro — it has no connection to Galleria Dante or the Zona Romántica.
Is this the same as the Southside Shuffle?
No. Galleria Dante and Di Vino Dante were previously part of the Southside Shuffle, a Zona Romántica gallery walk that’s no longer active. Meet the Artist Night is a newer event, created independently by Galleria Dante and Di Vino Dante — not a continuation of that earlier tradition.
Could this coincide with Arte Zona Romántica?
Possibly. Arte Zona Romántica, organized separately by Kathleen Carrillo Gallery, also tends to fall on Fridays, so the two events may occasionally land on the same night by coincidence — but they’re independently organized and not the same event.
Will I get to meet the actual artists?
Yes — that’s the whole point of the event. Several of the gallery’s represented artists are typically on-site, and some nights include live painting demonstrations.
Where can I eat nearby?
You don’t need to go far — Di Vino Dante (wine and tapas) and Pizza Joe’s are both on-site, accessible from the separate entrance at Basilio Badillo 269.

The 2nd level Di Vino Dante Restaurant overlooking the beautiful courtyard is a delicious dining option to end the wonderful artistic evening.
