The History of Pizza Joe 2.0 restaurant in Puerto Vallarta. The grand opening of the new Italian restaurant Pizza Joe 2.0 is December 21, 2024 on the rooftop of Di Vino Dante restaurant. Pizza Joe 2.0 is a tribute to the original restaurant Pizza Joe which opened December 21, 1988 and will feature the original menu plus some special items.
The history of Pizza Joe 2.0 has the original location with a meager 8 tables just around the block on Ignacio Vallarta and 6 months later moved to the current location of Galleria Dante at 269 Basilio Badillo with 40 tables surrounded by a large swimming pool.
After meeting in Puerto Vallarta in 1986, Claire and Joe Guarniere, inspired by Dante and Beatrice and their mutual love of Italy, began their family business in 1988 with an Italian restaurant called “Pizza Joe” and a small classical Art Gallery.
What stands today on the first floor is Galleria Dante PV’s largest fine art gallery managed by Claire since the closing of Pizza Joe‘s in 1995. Di Vino Dante is a Wine and Tapas bar run by their daughter Gena on the second floor since 2013. The third floor of the building has been recently remodeled and will be the new location of Pizza Joe 2.0. (facebook page).
