ANA Launches Road To Safety Project

ANA launches road to safety project to bolster community safety and upgrade infrastructure. As vehicular traffic on Highway 200 continues to surge, instances of fatalities and serious pedestrian injuries have dramatically escalated. In response the Amapas Neighborhood Association has launched the road to safety project to help address these needs.

The Plan

ANA launches Road to Safety project with the goal is to raise $1 Million pesos for essential safety enhancements. C

Addition of speed bumps (topes) in key locations

Painting crosswalks

Installing new signage and lighting

Create a comprehensive evacuation strategy to safeguard the community

Reno Los Pinos Stairs

Install railing along the rugged terrain between Amapas and Los Muertos Beaches.

Collaboration

In late January 2025, Puerto Vallarta city officials from public works, urban development, and transit police all agreed on the importance of this initiative and promised to support the project with labor.

Through fundraising, ANA will focus on materials and project oversight. Funds raised at Rock The River will kick-start the funding of Road to Safety. The association is currently seeking to form a project committee and welcomes matching gift donations from the community.
