Thompson Hotel And Residences Breaks Ground
Thompson Hotel And Residences breaks ground with an investment of approximately $250 million dollars in the northern hotel zone of Puerto Vallarta adjacent to the Krystal hotel.
The new 26-story tower will feature 130 condominiums, 85 hotel suites, 5 penthouses, 28 furnished apartment units with hotel rental service and 6 garden houses with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and the mountains.
Carlos Ancira, co-founder of Related Group, the company in charge of the investment, explained as Thompson Hotel And Residences breaks ground and will offer a carefully designed experience combining scenery and seascapes with urban destinations influenced by local culture.
Each unit will have luxury materials and top-level finishes, with a design by the renowned interior design office of SofÃa Aspe. The estimated construction period is 36 months to completion. The development has had a positive reception, since, in just five months, 65% of the properties have been sold. Of these, 95% have been acquired by national buyers. “Mexicans are buying Mexico.
Thompson Hotel and Residences beachfront hotels will be defined by iconic elegance. The project, Ancira said, required a reconfiguration of the beach area where it is located, carried out by the prestigious architect Ricardo Elias, who designed the master plan of the development on a seven-hectare property.
Reconfiguring the zone will involve changes to existing properties. The Hilton hotel will become a Hyatt-branded Breathless hotel, part of the Hacienda hotel will become Hyatt’s Zoëtry brand, and the Krystal hotel will be completely renovated under the Grand Krystal brand.
The project will include a series of distinctive amenities of the brand, such as restaurants, spa, gym, cinema, playroom, entertainment areas and paddle tennis courts.
Thompson Hotel & Residences breaks ground and the new hotel will operate under the luxury All-Inclusive concept, aimed at a high-end market with ample business opportunities. “What is needed is product. Vallarta lagged a little behind compared to the neighboring state. It was not renewed or competed in time. If we analyze the supply of high-end hotels in the neighboring state compared to Jalisco, we are at a clear disadvantage,” said Ancira.
However, he stressed that Puerto Vallarta has a privileged strategic position thanks to its proximity to the airport and its varied gastronomic offer. “The destination has security, hospitality and attractions to spare. Everything here has magic. This is a watch that works, it just needs a few drops of oil.”
Finally, the businessman reported Thompson Hotel And Residences breaks ground and already generates between 500 and 600 jobs in construction, and once in operation, it will generate approximately 500 new permanent jobs.
During the protocol of the event, the governor of Jalisco, Pablo Lemus Navarro, stressed that the Thompson development represents the renewal of the destination’s tourism offer, both in the hotel and residential sectors. “Puerto Vallarta deserves this renovation that is committed to high-end tourism,” he said.
The state governor stressed the importance as Thompson Hotel And Residences breaks ground. “I love Puerto Vallarta. I’ve been here since I was a kid and I want to see quality development that benefits everyone.”
Likewise, Pablo Lemus emphasized the relevance of attracting large investors to the state. “This announcement must be promoted internationally. At the end of last year, Jalisco was positioned as the third state in the country in job creation and we are going for more.
Thompson Hotels first debuted in NYC’s Soho, elevating the landmark neighborhood to a place of cutting-edge design and emerging style. Over the past two decades, the brand has continued to curate the most engaging cultural experiences, music, art, cuisine, and design aesthetic into each of its unique destinations across the globe.
