Puerto Vallarta going to NYC Pride 2024 was confirmed in a press conference May 26, 2024.
Puerto Vallarta tourism officials Christian Preciado Cázares Director of Tourism and Economic Development of the City Council, Luis Villaseñor Director of Tourism Trust, Miguel Heredia from the New York Mexican Consulate Office, Joshua Woods, Director of Operations of NYC Pride, and Javier Jiménez Directory of Puerto Vallarta pride confirmed the announcement.
On May 24, Joshua, Miguel and DIF President Eugenia López Ventura met with the interim mayor, Francisco José Martínez Gil to finalize Puerto Vallarta’s attendance which was announced Sunday May 26 at a press conference.

Puerto Vallarta Going To NYC Pride 2024 How it happened
Puerto Vallarta going to NYC Pride 2024 was made possible from tourism officials meeting at the recent Gala Vallarta – Riviera Nayarit. Cázares stated the cooperation of these two organizations will have a great tourism impact to Vallarta because New York is a major US gay destination with a direct flight to PV via JetBlue.
Miguel Heredia stated he hoped next year NYC pride would participate in Vallarta Pride 2025. Joshua Woods, director of operations of NYC Pride, announced he already visits Puerto Vallarta every year with his partner and is considering getting married in PV next year.
Puerto Vallarta will be the only Mexican entry in the NYC parade and one of 55 floats in the parade, which attracts 2.5 million tourists internationally and around 75,000 people involved.
The inaugural March took place in 1970, one year after the Stonewall Uprising, and has since evolved into an annual civil rights demonstration. Its purpose has expanded over time to encompass raising awareness about the fight against AIDS and honoring those we have lost to illness, violence, and neglect.
