Puerto Vallarta Strengthens Tourism With Canada

Puerto Vallarta strengthens tourism with Canada in a high-level diplomatic meeting with Councilor Melissa Madero Plascencia meeting Cameron MacKay, the Ambassador of Canada to Mexico.  Councilor Madero President of the Commission on Tourism Services and Visitor Relations of Puerto Vallarta met the Ambassador  during an event organized by the Canadian Embassy aboard the HMCS Ville de Québec, a Royal Canadian Navy vessel that arrived in port as part of its international tour.

Puerto Vallarta Strengthens Tourism With Canada marked a significant gesture of friendship and international cooperation, symbolizing the strong and growing alliance between Mexico and Canada — particularly in the areas of tourism, economy, education, and sustainable development.

Ambassador MacKay emphasized that the bilateral relationship between both nations is entering a new stage of collaboration and trust.

“Nearly three million Canadians will visit Mexico this year, and Puerto Vallarta remains one of their favorite destinations, with more than 50 weekly flights from various Canadian cities,” he stated.

For her part, Councilor Melissa Madero celebrated the ship’s arrival and the opportunity to deepen direct collaboration with the Canadian government.

“This relationship goes beyond diplomacy — it boosts tourism, energizes the local economy, and opens new opportunities for educational and cultural cooperation. Puerto Vallarta is a destination that unites nations through responsible tourism and hospitality,” she said.

After seven months of sailing across multiple continents, the arrival of the HMCS Ville de Québec in Puerto Vallarta represented not only a visit of goodwill but also a reaffirmation of shared values between the two nations.
