Tryst Hotels adds The Crown & Anchor Provincetown. Tryst Hospitality, led by entrepreneur Tristan Schukraft, has announced its acquisition of The Crown & Anchor in Provincetown — one of the most iconic LGBTQ+ nightlife and hospitality venues in the United States. This move strengthens Tryst’s international portfolio of gay hotels, LGBTQ+ nightlife destinations, and community-driven spaces that mirror the energy and spirit found in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico’s top LGBTQ+ travel destination.

Under the acquisition, the property’s historic 17-room hotel will be relaunched as The Tryst Provincetown, joining a portfolio that already includes The Tryst Puerto Vallarta, The Tryst San Juan, and upcoming properties in Fire Island Pines, Wilton Manors, and Rio de Janeiro. For Puerto Vallarta’s thriving tourism sector, this expansion reinforces the city’s alignment with a global network of LGBTQ+ hospitality brands.

Tryst Hotels adds The Crown & Anchor Provincetown located in the historic center, includes six bars, a restaurant, a boutique hotel, and renowned performance venues such as The Paramount, The Crown Cabaret, and The Vault. For decades it has served as a cultural anchor for the queer community, similar to how Zona Romántica, Los Muertos Beach, and Puerto Vallarta’s gay nightlife act as community hubs for LGBTQ+ locals and tourists.

Tristan emphasized the cultural role of iconic LGBTQ+ destinations, noting that Provincetown — much like Puerto Vallarta — thrives as a place where LGBTQ+ people have come for decades “to be seen, to create, to fall in love, and to live openly.” His goal is to preserve The Crown’s legacy while modernizing it for future generations, keeping it gay-owned, community-driven, and culturally relevant.

Co-owners Jonathan Hawkins and Paolo Martini expressed confidence in Tryst’s leadership and ability to protect Provincetown’s queer heritage. The property will continue normal operations through New Year’s Eve 2025, followed by a brief seasonal closure for redesign and upgrades ahead of the 2026 summer season.

Tryst Hotels adds The Crown & Anchor Provincetown as other Tryst properties will continue hosting major LGBTQ+ events such as Women’s Week, Frolic, Bear Week, Carnival Week, and Family Week — echoing Puerto Vallarta’s own calendar of LGBTQ+ festivities including Vallarta Pride, Bear Week PV, and year-round nightlife programming at bars, beach clubs, and cabarets.

Tryst Hotels adds The Crown & Anchor Provincetown after purchasing The Abbey in West Hollywood, DS Tequila in Chicago’s Northalsted, The Blue Whale and The Pavilion on Fire Island, and future expansions into global LGBTQ+ hubs. These destinations share the same philosophy seen in The Tryst Puerto Vallarta: vibrant design, high-touch hospitality, community energy, and spaces intentionally built for gay travelers, LGBTQ+ locals, and allies.

Tryst Hotels Adds The Crown & Anchor Provincetown highlights Tristan’s growing influence in shaping the future of queer travel. His investments in Fire Island Pines — from staff housing to upgraded programming and The Tryst Pool Club — demonstrate a commitment to sustaining queer cultural landmarks. This same approach is visible in Puerto Vallarta, where The Tryst Puerto Vallarta has already become a favorite among LGBTQ+ tourists, cabaret performers, influencers, and nightlife enthusiasts.

From the legendary drag brunch pool parties in Puerto Vallarta, to tea dances on Fire Island, to historic entertainment venues in Provincetown, Tryst Hospitality continues strengthening the global network of queer destinations that drive LGBTQ+ tourism. As Puerto Vallarta continues expanding its reputation as one of the world’s leading gay travel cities, global investments like Tryst’s acquisition of The Crown & Anchor highlight the growing tourism synergy between top LGBTQ+ destinations — and reinforce Puerto Vallarta’s position as a must-visit hub in the international queer travel landscape.

With a portfolio that includes iconic LGBTQ+ bars, restaurants, hotels, and nightclubs, alongside MISTR, a telehealth platform offering discreet, free online access to PrEP and long-term HIV care and other services for the LGBTQ+ community and Green Qween, West Hollywood’s first and only LGBTQ+ owned cannabis dispensary.
