❓ FAQ
When does the Vallarta Art Walk start in 2026–27?
The 2026–27 season runs every Wednesday from October 28, 2026 through May 26, 2027, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Is there a fee to join the Art Walk?
No, it’s completely free. Visit any gallery at your own pace.
Where does the Art Walk start?
There is no official starting point or required route. Many visitors begin at Galería Barcelona Tapas in upper Centro and work their way downhill through the gallery district, but you can start at any participating gallery.
Where can I get an Art Walk map?
Official maps are available at any participating gallery, and you can also download one from the Vallarta ArtWalk website.
How do I get to the Art Walk?
The galleries are in Centro Histórico, and the area is walkable from the Zona Romántica by crossing the river. A taxi or rideshare is the easiest option if you’re coming from farther away. Wear comfortable shoes — the streets are cobblestone and the route includes uphill and downhill stretches.
Is there parking near the galleries?
Parking is very limited in Centro Histórico, so a taxi or rideshare is the easiest way in.
Which gallery is closest to the Zona Romántica?
UNFINISHED on Libertad, at Libertad 273, sits a few blocks from the new bridge and next to the Zona Romántica, making it an easy first or last stop.
Can I take photos inside the galleries?
Always ask the artist or gallery staff before photographing original artwork. Photo policies vary by gallery, and asking first is basic etiquette.
Are there refreshments available?
Some galleries offer wine or small bites during Art Walk evenings, but it varies by gallery and isn’t guaranteed. A few galleries, like UNFINISHED Gallery & Lounge, have a full bar or café service.
Is the art expensive, or are there more affordable pieces too?
Both. The galleries range from high-end fine art and established Mexican masters to more accessible handmade pieces, pottery, jewelry, and smaller-scale works — there’s a real range of price points across the walk.
Can I pay for art in installments?
Some galleries offer payment options. Browne Galería, for example, runs the Red-E Club, an art layaway program for new collectors. Ask the gallery directly about their options.
How many galleries can I realistically visit in one evening?
Most visitors comfortably see 5–7 galleries in one evening at a relaxed pace, since most locations sit within a short walk of each other.
Which galleries participate?
See the full list above. Participating galleries can change from season to season, so it’s worth checking back if you’re a regular.
Can I buy art during the Art Walk?
Yes, most galleries sell directly on-site.
Is this a street festival with food and live music?
No — the Art Walk is a self-guided tour between individual galleries, not a street party. It’s a relaxed evening of browsing, not a festival with booths or stages.
Is it family-friendly?
Generally yes. A few galleries show adult-oriented work, so if you’re bringing children, check with the gallery before you go.
