Miss Conception Brings Make America Gay Again … Not the 51st State to Puerto Vallarta

In an era of upheaval and division, one Canadian queen is sashaying into Puerto Vallarta with a mission: to bring joy, unity—and a healthy dose of sparkle. Kevin Levesque, better known onstage as Miss Conception, talks about his bold new show Make America Gay Again … Not the 51st State at The Palm Cabaret & Bar.

Levesque, who has embodied Miss Conception for more than 25 years, is no stranger to high-stakes performance. His one-woman, live-singing shows are renowned for rapid on-stage costume changes—a technique he dubs a “female delusionist.”

Miss Conception Brings Make America Gay Again

A High-Energy Cabaret Show Packed with Costume Changes

In Make America Gay Again … Not the 51st State, she delivers more than 22 dazzling costume changes, creating transformations that evoke America’s Got Talent–style theatricality. The show is co-written with Jacques Lamarre and features costume design by Puerto Vallarta–based José Luis Casillas (JOSELO), along with seamster Jeff Christensen and accessories by Manolo Becker.

Audiences can expect impersonations of celebrated gay icons such as Lady Gaga, Cher, Madonna, Elton John, Liza Minnelli, Freddie Mercury, Dolly Parton—and even a glamorous Canadian Mountie.

Levesque belts out live vocals ranging from empowering anthems like “This Is Me” to Broadway classics such as “New York, New York,” as well as a rendition of “Big, Gay and Beautiful.” A tongue-in-cheek performance of “Blame Canada” (from South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut) underscores both humor and national pride.

A Timely Message of Unity and History

Levesque said the show is a timely response to the world’s current uncertainty. In an interview with GayPV, he described how cabaret can serve as a refuge—leaving audiences inspired through laughter and comedy.

“We need to all come together and stand up, now more than ever,” he tells GAYPV, referencing younger fans who may not know key moments in LGBTQ+ history, such as Stonewall.

That thread of education runs through the performance. Many cabaret shows in Vallarta are filled with straight allies who enjoy the amazing entertaining cabaret scene here. Kevin is determined  to bring awareness and a sense of shared history specifically to younger audiences unfamiliar with individuals such as Harvey Milk or Marsha P. Johnson.

On land, she has shared stages with LGBTQ+ icons including comedian Leslie Jordan, singer Lorna Luft (daughter of Judy Garland), and Tony Award winner Jennifer Holliday. Her television credits include Queer as Folk and Degrassi: The Next Generation.

She also made reality-TV history as the first drag contestant to complete the Wipeout Canada obstacle course in full drag.

Offstage, Levesque channels his creativity into philanthropy, supporting organizations such as Until There’s a Cure and raising funds for people living with HIV/AIDS. His commitment to community extends far beyond the stage.
