Puerto Vallarta gay hotels after Corona Virus- what to expect. Some Puerto Vallarta gay and other hotels are reopening after June 1, 2020. What new COVID-19 safety protocols should gay travelers expect to see or not to see when returning to Puerto Vallarta gay hotels?

Paul Christ, owner of Hotel Mercurio is readily preparing for the return of his LGBT travelers. “Our open air patio is open for bar/restaurant service since May 26, 2020, but the pool will not open until we are allowed to do so. Our breakfast buffet will no longer be offered, but we will have a breakfast menu available, included in the rate, for hotel guests. The public will be able to join us for breakfast ($140 pesos) on a space available basis.  We will no longer offer the Sunday Beers Boys & Burgers pool party, until the pandemic is over, likely when there is a vaccine. That may be well into 2021. We can accommodate a maximum of 26 people in the pool area, based on the spacing protocols provided by the state of Jalisco. That policy will be in effect until we get new guidelines from state health officials. Hotel Mercurio has met and implemented all the procedures and requirements itemized in the state of Jalisco protocols for room cleaning, disinfecting common areas, and staff training.

Vidal Mesa, CMO of the Almar Group, has announced that Almar Resort will be reopening June 1, 2020 with very strict hygiene and sanitary protocols. “We have been working very hard at all our locations to be ready for our guests to return. At Almar Resort changes for the common area will include a maximum of 4 people per elevator, elevators cleaned every hour, all staff will be wearing masks at all times, and masks (provided by the hotel) will be required by guests in some common areas . At check in your luggage will be disinfected upon arrival.  For the rooms, the extra protocols include the mini bars will be stocked only on demand not pre-stocked prior to arrival, bedsheets and towels will be removed every day, all room surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected every day, and additional room visitors will need to register, have their temperature taken, and go through the disinfection process before entry.   • Training and regular practice of safety and hygiene protocols.
  • Physical distancing of at least 6 ft. (2 meters).
  • The body temperature of all staff members will be taken upon arrival and they will pass —before and after their shift— through a sanitization cabin with a steam system.
  • Touchless hand sanitizer dispensers located at key points.
  • Sanitizing mats in high-touch areas.
