Puerto Vallarta Theater Shows And Public Pools Can Reopen June, 29 2020. Governor Enrique Alfaro Ramírez says starting Monday June 29, 2020, cinemas and theaters in Jalisco state may open their doors, as well as swimming pools for private classes, informed . This was after the conclusion of the meeting of the members of the Economic Reactivation table. He also states there conditions for Jalisco to reach Phase 1. With the established protocols, public parks without children’s areas will be opened, with a capacity of 50%. Also cinemas and theaters can reopen with the established protocols at 25% of their capacity and swimming pools for individual classes. However spas are not allowed to reopen under this order. It is also important to know what cannot be opened. Private courts for sports activities and public sports units will not allowed to be opened. Jalisco is not advancing to Phase one as we are in the orange light of increased infections and deaths of Covid-19. 

This reopening comes after Puerto Vallarta beaches were allowed to resume June 15, 2020. The beaches are a central element of the revival for the tourist destination, and on public beaches, the municipalities will be in charge of complying with the social distancing protocols. All this will be part of a “gradual reactivation of tourism because we have to learn to live with the risk, because if people are not dying from the virus, people will start to starve. 

On June 14, 2020 the official newspaper register of the State of Jalisco has published provisions for Puerto Vallarta Shopping Centers, Gyms reopen at 25% capacity and with measures of social distancing required. In this measure, The commercial shopping centers  Galerías, La Isla or Macroplaza will be allowed to open which have been closed for three months now. However, shoppers of commercial plaza will not be able to use common areas such as children’s play areas, communal dining rooms, since fast food restaurants will only be able to deliver takeout products; parking lots will only receive 25% of their capacity.

Update as of June 29 2020. Despite the fact that the different cinema chains in the city have already published their reopening billboard, they still cannot open theaters this Monday, informed the director of Inspection and Regulations of the City Council, José Juan Velázquez Hernández. According to Jose Hernandez there was no respective official publication in the official journals of Jalisco. This is the same case of sports fields and swimming pools for classes. He reiterated that until thee notifications are officially published in the Gazette of the State of Jalisco, they will not be able to open their doors. See this notice in Spanish.
